Mars vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to trap Storm Spirit with Arena of Blood is a losing battle. He escapes instantly with Ball Lightning, completely ignoring the wall and leaving Mars unable to pin him for a kill. Mars wants to hold enemies still to fight them, but Storm Spirit's entire kit is built around constant movement, letting him dodge Spear of Mars and stay at a safe range. Even Mars's defensive bulk from Bulwark is less effective here, as Storm deals almost entirely magical damage and ignores the frontal damage reduction.

This dynamic defines how teamfights play out. Mars can't reliably initiate on Storm, nor can he peel for his own supports when Storm zips onto them. The fight happens wherever Storm wants it to, not inside the Arena. For Mars to have an impact, his team needs to provide the instant lockdown that Storm can't dodge, like a hex or an abyssal blade. Without that help, Storm is free to drain Mars's mana and health from a distance with Overload attacks, turning the frontline initiator into a non-factor.
