How this matchup plays

Setting up a perfect Arena of Blood can feel like a trap for your own team against a Winter Wyvern. Any target Mars spears against the wall can be saved by a well-timed Cold Embrace, which stops all physical damage and heals them up. Even worse, Winter Wyvern can use Winter's Curse on a hero inside the Arena, forcing everyone else trapped with them to attack their own ally. It turns Mars's signature teamfight control into a chaotic liability, completely undermining his purpose as an initiator.

This core interaction defines the matchup from the mid-game onward. Mars is forced to play around Wyvern's cooldowns, trying to bait out her defensive spells before committing his ultimate, which is rarely a reliable plan. Winter Wyvern, on the other hand, can simply position safely in the back and wait.
