Monkey King vs Clockwerk

How this matchup plays

Trying to play from the trees as Monkey King is a losing game against a Clockwerk. Rocket Flare constantly checks the canopy, stripping away MK's ability to scout, escape, or set up a good fight. If Monkey King does manage to jump in, Clockwerk's entire kit works to shut him down. Power Cogs trap him and Battery Assault's constant stuns make building Jingu Mastery stacks incredibly difficult. Even a perfect Wukong's Command is easily neutralized by a well-placed set of Cogs that simply pushes Monkey King out of his own ultimate.

This makes Clockwerk the aggressor at all stages. He can hunt a farming Monkey King across the map with Hookshot, knowing MK's primary escape is unreliable. The pressure forces Monkey King into a reactive posture, often needing an early Black King Bar to have any impact. In teamfights, Clockwerk looks to find and isolate MK, while the Monkey King player has to wait for key spells to be used on a different target before daring to commit.
