Monkey King vs Snapfire

How this matchup plays

Picking Monkey King into a Snapfire feels like fighting uphill from the start. Monkey King's mobility and initiation rely on Tree Dance, but Snapfire easily destroys trees with both Scatterblast and Mortimer Kisses, stunning him on the ground. This neutralizes his ability to scout, escape, or set up Primal Spring. When he commits Wukong's Command, he also creates a perfect, stationary target for Mortimer Kisses. The slowing, burning pools make it impossible for him to stay in his own ultimate, negating his biggest spell from a safe distance.

This difficult dynamic defines the entire game. In lane, Snapfire makes it dangerous for Monkey King to use trees or even trade hits, punishing his aggression with her shotgun blast. Later, his main hope is jumping on Snapfire from the fog before she can react, but this is a huge risk. Her team will naturally position to protect her, letting her wait for Wukong's Command before opening up with her own ultimate. It’s telling that these heroes also struggle when on the same team; their core designs fundamentally clash.
