Monkey King vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Jumping on Techies from the trees feels like the right play, but it's usually a trap. Techies excels at punishing this exact kind of initiation, seeding the ground below perches with Proximity Mines. A Primal Spring can land Monkey King directly in a stun and heavy damage before he gets a single hit off. Even if the jump is clean, a quick Reactive Tazer disarms Monkey King, completely denying any chance to build Jingu Mastery stacks. The entire fight pattern that makes Monkey King effective is dismantled before it can begin.

This dynamic makes the whole game a struggle. Pushing into high ground or defending towers becomes a nightmare, as Techies can pre-mine the area where Wukong's Command would be most effective. Monkey King is forced to play cautiously, spending gold on detection and relying on his team to clear a path. The Techies player can use Blast Off! to silence the ultimate's channel or simply escape the ring, constantly forcing Monkey King to fight on unfavorable terms or not at all.
