Monkey King vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Taking objectives and winning mid-game teamfights becomes incredibly difficult for Monkey King's team. His entire game revolves around landing a good Wukong's Command, but Vengeful Spirit makes this almost impossible. With a single cast of Nether Swap, she can pull Monkey King completely out of his ultimate's radius, leaving him isolated and helpless while his army of soldiers disappears. This isn't something he can dodge or outplay; it's a point-and-click counter. Wave of Terror also shreds his armor, making him and his clones much softer targets for a quick burst of damage.

As the game progresses, this dynamic forces Monkey King to play reactively. Using his ultimate to secure Roshan or push high ground is a huge risk that almost always ends with him getting swapped into the enemy team and killed. To have a chance, his team must find and kill Vengeful Spirit before a major fight begins, but she usually positions safely in the backline. This allows Vengeful Spirit's team to group up and force fights, confident that their opponent's biggest teamfight ability is a non-factor.
