Morphling vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can burst down a Morphling with magic damage is often a trap. Storm Spirit can initiate with his full combo, but a decent Morphling will anticipate this and shift into Strength to survive the initial damage. Once Storm is out of mana and his spells are on cooldown, the tables turn completely. Morphling can then shift back to Agility and try to kill him before he can escape. The whole interaction hinges on who reacts faster and whether Storm can catch Morphling before he is ready to toggle his attributes.

This back-and-forth continues throughout the game. Storm Spirit's earlier power spike allows him to create pressure and look for pickoffs, forcing Morphling to farm defensively. Later on, a farmed Morphling has the damage to delete Storm in a single stun if he can close the distance and lock him down with Adaptive Strike. Both heroes are trying to get the jump on the other, so the fight often comes down to who has better vision or who builds the right items to counter the other's initiation. It's a skill matchup where one mistake usually decides the outcome.
