Necrophos vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trying to survive with Windrun does next to nothing against Necrophos. His constant pressure from Heartstopper Aura and Death Pulse is entirely magical, so Windranger's evasion offers no protection. This makes it difficult for her to trade in lane or disengage from fights, as she’s always taking damage she can't mitigate. To make matters worse, if Windranger ever commits with Focus Fire, Necrophos can simply use Ghost Shroud to become immune to all her physical damage, turning her ultimate into a waste of a cooldown.

This unfavorable dynamic gives Necrophos control of the game's pace. He can comfortably dominate the lane and is too durable for Windranger to burst down during her mid-game power spike. Her usual pattern of getting a quick kill and escaping is completely shut down. Later in fights, she's under constant threat from Reaper's Scythe, which can easily finish her after she’s been worn down by his passive aura. Windranger is forced to play around Necrophos and rely on her team to deal with him, as her own kit lacks the tools to ever fight him head-on.
