Omniknight vs Phantom Lancer

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map's tempo is often easier for Phantom Lancer. His illusions allow him to farm multiple places at once, accelerating him toward core items like a Diffusal Blade much faster than Omniknight can match. Once he has those items, the constant swarm of illusions becomes a serious problem. They will relentlessly burn through Omniknight's mana pool, threatening his ability to cast his life-saving spells. While Purification can clear some illusions if they are clumped on an ally, it does not solve the underlying resource drain that Phantom Lancer applies throughout the mid-game.

The game becomes about resource management. Phantom Lancer wants to apply constant pressure, forcing skirmishes to drain mana and looking for opportunities to purge Heavenly Grace from a key target. He wins by making it impossible for Omniknight to have the resources for a decisive teamfight. Omniknight's goal is to survive this pressure, stay near his team, and find the perfect moment for a fight-winning Guardian Angel. Because PL has so many ways to weaken Omni before that big moment arrives, he tends to have a slight advantage.
