Oracle vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Thinking a support like Oracle is an easy kill is often where Spirit Breaker goes wrong. A well-played Oracle can stop Charge of Darkness with a timed root from Fortune's End or disarm him on arrival. The real problem for Spirit Breaker is False Promise, which can completely undo the burst damage from his gank. However, the reverse is also true. Spirit Breaker provides vision with his Charge, making it easier for his team to find and initiate on Oracle directly. If Oracle is the one getting chain-stunned, he can't cast his spells to save anyone, including himself.

This creates a constant duel of vision and reaction time. Early on, Spirit Breaker has to be careful about which lane he charges, as a prepared Oracle can turn the gank around completely. As the game progresses, it becomes Spirit Breaker's primary job to hunt down and burst Oracle before a teamfight breaks out. Oracle, in turn, has to play from the shadows, using good warding and positioning to ensure he's ready to counter-initiate with his saves. The outcome usually depends on which of the two finds the other out of position first.
