Oracle vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Trying to hold Tidehunter in place is often a frustrating experience for the opposing team. A key part of Oracle's job is using Fortune's End to root an important target for a gank or teamfight, but this control is unreliable against Tidehunter. His Kraken Shell provides a strong dispel whenever he takes a moderate amount of damage, so any attempt to lock him down with the root is usually shrugged off as soon as the fight begins. This makes him a slippery and disruptive frontliner that Oracle struggles to help his team neutralize.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Oracle into a reactive role. Tidehunter's Ravage can stun an entire team, and while False Promise is an excellent tool for saving a single focused ally, it does nothing to prevent the massive area-of-effect disable. Oracle can save one core, but the rest of his team is still caught and vulnerable. Tidehunter is also naturally durable and hard to burst down, making him an awkward target for Oracle's damage and giving his team a consistent advantage when initiating fights.
