Oracle vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Using False Promise on a target caught by Warlock’s Chaotic Offering is the central dynamic here. It can completely negate the follow-up burst damage that Warlock sets up with his ultimate and Fatal Bonds. During the lane, Oracle can also consistently purge Shadow Word with Fortune's End, weakening Warlock’s ability to harass and sustain his core. The matchup is far from a lock, however. The initial stun from Warlock's Golem pierces spell immunity and can easily catch Oracle before he has a chance to cast his save. Fatal Bonds also means that even if the primary target survives under False Promise, their allies might still take lethal damage.

Teamfights often hinge on which hero gets to execute their plan first. Oracle wants to play defensively, waiting for the Golem to drop so he can react with the perfect save. In contrast, Warlock and his team want to overwhelm Oracle’s single-target focus. A well-placed Upheaval can lock down multiple heroes, leaving them vulnerable and forcing Oracle into an impossible choice. The fight is won by whichever team better enables their support: either Oracle turns the Golem into a liability, or Warlock creates too much pressure for one hero to manage.
