How this matchup plays

Drafting a team around bursting down Tusk is tricky, as he has tools to disrupt most attempts. He can use Snowball to dodge initial damage and reposition, or use Ice Shards to create distance and trap a pursuer. For Phantom Assassin, this means an assassination attempt can quickly turn sour. Her advantage comes from Blur, which makes it very hard for Tusk to fight back with his own attacks. The evasion also reduces the value of his Tag Team, since allies will miss many of their bonus-damage attacks against her.

Throughout the game, this matchup centers on control versus elusiveness. Early on, Tusk is a ganking threat who can make Phantom Assassin's laning stage miserable. As the game progresses, PA looks to get the jump with Phantom Strike and eliminate him before he can react. Tusk's goal shifts to saving allies with a well-timed Snowball or using the guaranteed stun from Walrus PUNCH! to lock her down for his own cores.
