Phantom Lancer vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Playing against a Techies is a test of patience, and Phantom Lancer's illusions give him a unique way to pass it. He can send his copies ahead to scout and trigger Proximity Mines, clearing dangerous areas without risking his own life. This forces the Techies to rely more on direct engagement with other spells. While the illusions make minefields less scary, they are still very vulnerable to the area-of-effect damage from a well-placed Blast Off, which can instantly wipe them out and leave the real Phantom Lancer exposed.

The matchup often comes down to positioning and item timings. An early lead for Techies can make it nearly impossible for Phantom Lancer to farm safely. But once PL gets items that let him survive the initial burst and purge slows, he can turn the tables. He becomes the hunter, using Doppelganger to dodge incoming damage and overwhelm the fragile Techies before they can set up. It’s a constant back-and-forth of area denial versus relentless pursuit that could go either way.
