Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Phantom Lancer wins the Phantom Lancer vs Undying matchup: Phantom Lancer beats Undying in 53.47% of 72,996 ranked matches.
Fighting an early Undying is a nightmare for Phantom Lancer. A single cast of Decay can hit the real hero and his illusions, draining strength and making him fragile and easy to spot. Tombstone is also a major threat before PL has items to deal with it, as the zombies can quickly swarm him. All of the illusions running around also supercharge Soul Rip, giving Undying a huge burst of damage or healing right when he needs it. The lane is often a struggle for survival.
Once Phantom Lancer gets a few items, the dynamic shifts. His illusions become a powerful tool for quickly finding and destroying the Tombstone from a safe distance. In larger fights, the sheer number of units PL creates makes it chaotic for Undying to land his spells on important targets. This matchup is a race against time: Undying and his team need to press their advantage and end the game, because if PL is allowed to farm, he will eventually overwhelm the very things that countered him earlier.
