Pugna vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a core with Life Drain is Pugna's whole game plan, but it's a death sentence against Spectre. Her Dispersion passive reflects a portion of all incoming damage back to the source. Since Pugna is a fragile hero who channels a massive amount of damage very quickly, he often ends up killing himself when trying to focus her. This fundamentally breaks Pugna's teamfight contribution, neutralizing his biggest threat and allowing Spectre to survive fights that other carries could not. His main tool for controlling a key target becomes completely unusable.

This gives Spectre all the time she needs to farm. Pugna's team wants to push and end early, but they can't effectively fight into a Spectre who simply ignores their primary damage dealer. Once Spectre has her ultimate, the tables turn completely. She can use Haunt to instantly jump on and isolate the vulnerable Pugna, who has no escape mechanism and dies quickly to her illusions. Pugna is forced to play defensively, unable to use his spells aggressively, while Spectre is free to farm and hunt him down at will.
