Razor vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a Static Link on Sniper feels like a losing battle for Razor. Sniper's whole game is built around keeping his distance, and his exceptional attack range from Take Aim lets him sit comfortably outside the tether's break range. Even if Razor starts to close the gap, a simple Shrapnel can slow him down enough for Sniper to reposition. Later on, a common item like a Force Staff provides an instant escape, breaking the link and resetting the whole engagement. Razor is forced to find a perfect opening to even begin applying his main spell.

This dynamic forces Razor to alter his game plan significantly. While Sniper can play his normal game of poking from the backline, Razor often needs to buy a Blink Dagger or rely heavily on his team to create a gank. Without that surprise initiation, Razor struggles to contribute meaningfully in fights against a well-positioned Sniper. The matchup becomes a test of positioning and surprise. Sniper has the advantage by default, but a successful jump from Razor can quickly punish Sniper's fragility, keeping the outcome from feeling too one-sided.
