Razor vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Laning against Venomancer often feels like a war of attrition, but Razor has the tools to turn that dynamic on its head. Venomancer relies on his damage-over-time effects to bully opponents and secure kills. Static Link directly saps the attack damage that fuels a significant part of that pressure, making Venomancer's harassment much less effective. While linked, Venomancer is not only losing his damage but also empowering Razor to run him down. Razor can often shrug off the initial slows and turn a gank into a kill on Venomancer himself.

This advantage can be maintained, but it requires Razor to prioritize the right target. Mid-game, a well-positioned Venomancer can still cause huge problems with Poison Nova and a field of Plague Wards, which don't care about his personal damage output. Razor's job is to get on top of Venomancer and link him before he can get his ultimate off cleanly. If he succeeds, Venomancer contributes very little to the fight. If Veno stays safe in the backline and lands a good ultimate, Razor's direct counter-play becomes much less relevant.
