Razor vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can use Windrun to man-fight Razor is a common mistake. His Static Link doesn't care about evasion; it will connect and start draining your attack damage whether your attacks are landing or not. This is a huge problem for Windranger, because her own ultimate, Focus Fire, relies entirely on that attack damage to be effective. As Razor gets stronger from the link, she gets weaker, turning her primary kill-threat tool into a liability. Razor's own ultimate also adds damage that can't be dodged, putting Windranger on a timer once the link is on.

This forces Windranger to change her whole game plan. She can't play aggressively in lane and must instead focus on farming with Powershot from a safe distance. Later on, her goal becomes avoiding Razor or buying an early Force Staff or Eul's Scepter to break the link instantly. Razor, knowing this, will try to force the issue and run at her whenever he sees her. This doesn't make the game unplayable for Windranger, but it does mean she has to spend her resources reacting to Razor instead of dictating the flow of the fight, giving him a consistent, if small, advantage.
