Shadow Shaman vs Timbersaw

How this matchup plays

Picking Timbersaw into an enemy lineup is already a gamble, but seeing a Shadow Shaman on the other side makes it a truly desperate one. The core problem is that Timbersaw's survivability relies entirely on his mobility from Timber Chain. Shadow Shaman has two separate, long-duration abilities in Hex and Shackles that completely disable that mobility. Once Timbersaw is caught, he has no way to escape or interrupt the channel, turning his whole "unkillable" plan into a liability. He becomes a stationary target waiting to be burst down.

This dynamic ruins Timbersaw's game at every stage. Early rotations from Shadow Shaman are almost always fatal. Later on, when Shadow Shaman uses Mass Serpent Ward to siege a tower, Timbersaw is completely neutralized. He can’t approach to clear the wave or defend the objective without risking getting instantly Hexed and killed by the wards and enemy team. To have any chance, Timbersaw's team needs to be the one initiating, finding and killing the Shadow Shaman first, but that's a difficult task when the Shaman is usually positioned safely in the back.
