Shadow Shaman vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by a Spectre Haunt is usually the end for Shadow Shaman. As a hero with no escape, he's a prime target for her global ganks and often can't survive long enough to get his spells off. Even if Shadow Shaman manages to initiate on Spectre, his own lockdown becomes a liability. Channeling Shackles on her means he and any nearby allies are taking significant reflected damage from Dispersion, making it hard to secure the kill. Her natural tankiness combined with that damage return undermines his entire "catch and burst" game plan.

As the game progresses, Shadow Shaman is forced to play much more defensively, unable to ward aggressively or push out lanes for fear of getting picked off. This severely limits his map impact. Spectre can farm safely and choose her fights, often initiating directly onto Shaman to remove his disables from the equation immediately. While Shaman's team tries to group and force objectives before Spectre gets too strong, she can split the map and still join any fight instantly, turning what should be a favorable engagement for Shaman's team completely on its head.
