Shadow Shaman vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Playing as Storm Spirit into a Shadow Shaman is a nightmare. Your entire kit is based on being a slippery, uncatchable target, but Shadow Shaman has multiple instant, targeted disables that completely negate that. A single Hex can stop a Ball Lightning initiation cold, and if it’s followed by Shackles, you're a sitting duck for a long time. There’s very little room for outplay before you get items that can block spells; he points, you’re caught, and you probably die.

This threat controls the pace of the game for Storm Spirit. A roaming Shadow Shaman can make the laning stage impossible, repeatedly ganking you and delaying the items you need to function. Later, in teamfights, you have to hesitate. A smart Shaman will hold his spells, forcing you to wait on the edge of the fight until he commits them to another target. This forces Storm to either buy an early Black King Bar and play around its cooldown or depend entirely on teammates to initiate on Shaman first.
