Shadow Shaman vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to zip in for a kill on a support feels incredibly risky when Shadow Shaman is on the other team. Void Spirit relies on his mobility to get in and out of fights, but Shaman’s instant Hex completely shuts that down. A Void Spirit caught in Hex can't use his remnants to escape or his shield to mitigate damage, leaving him exposed. Even if he survives the initial disable, Shadow Shaman can follow up with Shackles to hold him in place for an eternity. The two long-duration disables are a direct answer to a hero who lives on the edge.

This dynamic forces Void Spirit to play a much more careful game. He can't dive towers if Shadow Shaman is there to defend, and his mid-game ganks are often reversed the moment he shows up. Void Spirit's main recourse is to get a Black King Bar much earlier than he might want to, which can slow down his damage progression. Meanwhile, Shadow Shaman can dictate the pace by using Mass Serpent Ward to push down objectives, forcing Void Spirit's team into uncomfortable fights where Shaman is ready with his lockdown.
