Timbersaw vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Picking Timbersaw is a bet that the enemy can't handle your regeneration and physical resistance. Venomancer completely bypasses this plan. Timbersaw's Reactive Armor only builds stacks from attacks, giving him nothing against Venomancer's magical damage-over-time spells. Instead of getting tougher the longer he fights, he melts under the constant pressure of Poison Nova and Venomous Gale. The very thing that makes Timbersaw feel unkillable against other lineups becomes a non-factor, leaving him exposed without his defensive layers.

This problem starts in the lane, where Timbersaw can't trade effectively and struggles to sustain. Later, his dives with Timber Chain are punished by heavy slows and vision from Plague Wards, preventing escapes. A well-placed Poison Nova during a teamfight forces him out or guarantees his death. To have a chance, Timbersaw must rush magic resistance or a Black King Bar, delaying his core items. Venomancer's goal is to keep the pressure on, forcing Timbersaw to react defensively and never letting him get a comfortable start.
