Timbersaw vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trying to pin down Windranger is a nightmare for Timbersaw. She has multiple ways to maintain distance; Windrun provides a movement speed boost to easily kite his advances, while Powershot lets her harass from well outside his effective spell range. The biggest problem is Shackleshot. It’s a long-duration stun that completely neutralizes Timbersaw's escape with Timber Chain, often using the very trees he needs to his disadvantage. A successful Shackle leaves him stranded and vulnerable to being burst down by her team, turning his aggression into a death sentence.

This dynamic puts Timbersaw on the back foot from the laning stage. Windranger can control the creep wave and threaten kills, slowing his item progression and map presence. In mid-game teamfights, Timbersaw wants to dive the backline, but he can’t effectively initiate on Windranger. If he commits, she can reposition with Windrun; if he ignores her, she is free to land a fight-winning Shackle on him or another core while using Focus Fire. This forces Timbersaw to play cautiously, which undermines his role as a space-creating frontliner.
