How this matchup plays

Thinking Snapfire’s ultimate automatically wins fights against Io is a common trap. While Mortimer's Kisses creates a huge zone of death, Io has the perfect answer in Relocate. The trick is that Relocate isn't an instant escape. Io has to predict where Snapfire is aiming and start the channel before the globs land. This gives Snapfire a window to interrupt the teleport with a well-aimed Firesnap Cookie or burst Io down before the channel finishes. The whole interaction becomes a high-stakes timing challenge rather than a simple counter.

This dynamic defines the matchup from the mid-game onward. A fight often hinges on whether Snapfire can force an engagement where Io can't safely channel Relocate, or if the Io player can successfully bait the Kisses and escape with his core. If Io saves his partner, Snapfire’s biggest teamfight contribution is completely negated. But if Snapfire's team can stun Io or kill his tethered target during the Relocate channel, the fight is usually won. It really comes down to which player better anticipates the other's moves.
