Snapfire vs Witch Doctor

How this matchup plays

Landing a Maledict on Snapfire while she's using Mortimer Kisses is a huge threat. Since she's usually stationary and taking damage to channel her ultimate, the curse can easily pop for lethal damage. However, the reverse is also true. Lil' Shredder is one of the best abilities in the game for quickly destroying a Death Ward from a safe distance. This forces Witch Doctor to be extremely careful about where he places his ultimate, as Snapfire can neutralize his biggest teamfight contribution in seconds. The core of the matchup is this standoff between their two strongest spells.

Throughout the game, both heroes want to do similar things: stand in the back and unload massive area damage. The fight often comes down to who gets the better initiation or positioning. Witch Doctor tries to find an opening with Paralyzing Cask to set up his spells, while Snapfire looks for a good Firesnap Cookie to displace an enemy or save an ally. Neither hero has a reliable way to get on top of the other and interrupt them before they can get their spells off. It's a fragile balance where the better-positioned support usually dictates the outcome of the fight.
