How this matchup plays

Closing the gap is the fundamental challenge when playing against Sniper. Void Spirit is designed for exactly that task, using Astral Step to zip past frontliners and get on top of his target. His Aether Remnant can then lock Sniper down for the kill. However, Sniper’s extreme attack range and the knockback from Headshot can make that final approach dangerous. If Void Spirit can’t finish the job immediately, he’s left exposed and vulnerable to being kited and shot down from a distance he can no longer close.

This matchup really comes down to which hero is having a better game. Sniper can bully the lane early with his range, but the moment Void Spirit gets his ultimate, the kill threat flips entirely. The rest of the game becomes a test of positioning. If Void Spirit finds an opening from the fog of war, Sniper is almost always dead. But if Sniper has good vision, a defensive item, and support from his team, he can often survive the initial jump and punish Void Spirit's aggression.
