Sniper vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against a Sniper often feels like a losing battle for Windranger. His extreme attack range lets him harass and secure last hits from a position of safety she can't easily contest. While Powershot can trade some damage back, Sniper can often stand outside its effective kill range or sidestep it. He can also use Shrapnel to zone her out, slow her down, or reveal her position if she tries to use Windrun to escape or set up a play. This constant pressure can create a small but meaningful gold and experience lead for Sniper from the early game.

The game becomes a race for Windranger to acquire a mobility item like a Blink Dagger. With it, she can finally close the distance and threaten a kill with a well-aimed Shackleshot. Her entire plan revolves around finding these pick-offs. Sniper’s plan, however, is simpler: stay far away, use his team for vision and protection, and right-click targets down. Because Sniper’s win condition relies on consistent positioning rather than landing a difficult stun, he has an easier time executing his strategy, giving him a slight upper hand.
