Spectre vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to blow up Spectre feels like attacking a mirror. Storm Spirit relies on a massive burst of single-target magic damage to secure kills, but Dispersion reflects a huge part of that combo right back at him. A full sequence of spells from Storm can easily leave him near death while Spectre is still standing. This forces him to avoid her entirely, which is difficult when Spectre can join any fight with Haunt. This also punishes Storm’s typical playstyle of zipping around the map for pickoffs; she can instantly turn his gank against him, often isolating him for Desolate damage.

The game becomes a race against time for Storm Spirit. He has to create an overwhelming lead by picking off Spectre’s allies before her farm gets out of control. Any attempt to go on Spectre herself is a huge risk once she has a few levels and a durable item. Spectre, on the other hand, can play a patient game. She focuses on farming and uses Haunt to secure kills or escape ganks, knowing that Storm becomes less of a threat to her with every minute that passes. Late-game teamfights are especially brutal, as Storm can't jump the backline without Spectre appearing on top of him.
