Storm Spirit vs Tinker

How this matchup plays

Picking these two heroes for the same team often creates a resource problem, but picking them against each other sets up a classic hunter-and-prey dynamic. Storm Spirit is one of the few heroes who can reliably close the distance on a split-pushing Tinker from anywhere on the map. The moment Tinker starts to channel Rearm, he's a sitting duck. Storm Spirit's Ball Lightning lets him cross the screen in an instant to lock down and burst a target, directly punishing the very thing Tinker needs to do to be effective.

After the laning stage, the game changes for both players. The Storm Spirit player begins actively scanning the map, waiting for Tinker to show himself in a lane to farm. In response, the Tinker player is forced into a more defensive posture, needing to invest in vision and escape items earlier than they'd like. They can't play as aggressively on the map without risking getting caught. If Storm fails to convert these gank opportunities into kills, however, Tinker can still amass enough farm from safer positions to become a massive problem late game.
