Templar Assassin vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Burning through Refraction charges can seem difficult, but Tusk’s kit is surprisingly effective at it. Ice Shards can knock off a charge from a safe distance, setting up a gank. The real problem for Templar Assassin is Tag Team. Any hero attacking a target under its effect causes bonus physical damage, which counts as a separate instance. This means each right-click can remove two Refraction charges instead of one, stripping away her primary defense almost instantly.

This dynamic makes Tusk a constant threat. He can rotate to Templar Assassin's lane and enable a kill where other supports would fail. Later, TA can’t confidently blink on a target if Tusk is nearby, as he can instantly turn the tables with Tag Team and a Walrus PUNCH. Templar Assassin is forced to play more reactively, waiting for Tusk to commit his spells elsewhere, which limits her ability to control the tempo of the game. His presence alone forces her to respect his entire team.
