How this matchup plays

Burning through Refraction charges is unusually fast for Ursa, since Overpower gives him a burst of attacks. Even while the shield holds, his Fury Swipes are building stacks underneath it. The moment Templar Assassin's defense breaks, she's suddenly facing a fully ramped-up bear who can finish her in a couple of hits. This makes any direct fight a tense race against time for both heroes. TA has a small window to kill Ursa or escape before he inevitably shreds through her defenses and health pool.

The whole matchup comes down to who gets the jump. Templar Assassin wants to initiate from Meld and delete Ursa before he can press his buttons. Ursa, on the other hand, wants to find TA out of position with a Blink Dagger and lock her down before she can react. Later on, items like a Nullifier can seal the deal for Ursa, while TA relies on her Psionic Traps for vision and slows to avoid him entirely. The hero that lands the first blow is almost always the one who walks away.
