Tusk vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down and kill Void Spirit is where things get tricky for Tusk. A successful Snowball initiation is often not enough to secure the kill. Void Spirit can use Dissimilate to become untargetable, letting him dodge the Ice Shards trap or the follow-up Walrus Punch. Even if he gets caught, the shield from Resonant Pulse can absorb enough of the initial burst to survive and then escape with his ultimate. Tusk's whole ganking pattern relies on that immediate burst and control, which Void Spirit is well-equipped to sidestep.

This dynamic means Tusk often can't pressure Void Spirit effectively during the laning stage, giving Void more freedom to farm and dictate the tempo. In mid-game skirmishes, Tusk is put in a tough spot: either he uses his cooldowns on a less important target, or he risks them on Void Spirit, who can likely escape and leave Tusk out of position. For Tusk to succeed, his team needs to provide instant follow-up like a silence or hex, but having to rely on that perfect coordination gives Void Spirit a slight advantage in most scenarios.
