Thinking Paralyzing Cask gets free bounces off Tombstone zombies is a common trap. While the cask can stun for a long time in a zombie swarm, those same zombies are a direct threat to Witch Doctor. They will chase and attack him, making it very difficult to channel a full Death Ward without being interrupted. Maledict is a great answer for a tanky Undying who wants to linger in fights, but Undying's Soul Rip can leverage the extra units from Tombstone to provide a burst of healing or damage that can turn the tide of that curse.
The whole engagement becomes a test of positioning and timing. Witch Doctor is constantly looking for a safe, hidden spot to cast his ultimate where the zombies can't reach him. Undying, on the other hand, wants to place his Tombstone right in the middle of the fight to cause maximum chaos and specifically to disrupt that channel. Because each hero's most powerful teamfight ability is a direct counter to the other's, the winner is often the player who gets their spell off first and protects it better.
