Venomancer vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Lining these two heroes up against each other rarely produces a one-sided result. Windranger’s Windrun provides no protection from Venomancer’s persistent magical damage, making her vulnerable to his spells in a way she isn't to physical attackers. At the same time, Venomancer is slow and fragile, with no natural escape from Windranger's targeted burst if she lands a Shackleshot. Their kits don't directly counter one another, creating a standoff where initiation and positioning matter more than the heroes themselves.

During the laning phase, Venomancer can often bully Windranger with constant poison harass. Once the mid-game starts, however, the dynamic can flip. Windranger becomes a predator looking for isolated pickoffs, and a slow hero like Venomancer is an ideal target. In full teamfights, the situation changes again. The widespread slow and damage from Poison Nova can make it incredibly difficult for Windranger to channel Focus Fire on anyone, forcing her out of position or making her abandon her ultimate. Success hinges on which hero's team better enables their strategy.
