Venomancer vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Trying to apply poison in a teamfight is tough when you’re already dead. Zeus deals his damage instantly from a safe distance, which is a massive problem for a fragile, slow-moving hero like Venomancer. All of Veno's spells require him to either get close or live long enough for the damage over time to matter. Zeus simply doesn't allow that, using his nukes to bring Venomancer down from full health before Poison Nova can even take hold. Zeus can also clear out entire fields of Plague Wards with a single spell, neutralizing Veno's vision and pushing power from afar.

This dynamic makes the entire game difficult for Venomancer. He struggles to hold his ground in lane against the constant magic harassment and can't safely scout or split-push later on. Getting a good ultimate off means running into the fight, which makes him an easy target for Zeus. Veno's main hope is to build defensive items and rely on his team to lock Zeus down first. Zeus, on the other hand, can play his normal game, staying in the back and using his global ultimate to pick off a weakened Veno from anywhere on the map.
