Weaver vs Io

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a hero tethered to Io can feel like running in place for Weaver. The whole plan is to get a quick kill with damage from Swarm and attacks, but Io's Tether provides a stream of healing while Overcharge reduces incoming damage. This combination can be enough to help Weaver's target survive the initial burst and turn the fight around. The constant presence of Spirits can also make it awkward for Weaver to reposition with Shukuchi, as the revealing damage and vision can foil an escape or re-engagement attempt.

Throughout the game, this means Weaver has to work harder for his kills. He may be forced to bait out Io's saves or switch focus to a less ideal target. Meanwhile, Io and a partner can use Relocate to appear anywhere on the map, creating pressure and potentially catching Weaver out of position while he's trying to farm. While Weaver is elusive enough to often get away with Time Lapse, he might be forced to use it defensively, preventing him from contributing to the fight. It's not a shutdown, but Io consistently makes Weaver's job more difficult.
