Abaddon + Magnus

Why this works

Trying to land a big Reverse Polarity often means Magnus will be the first target for stuns and burst damage. Abaddon's Aphotic Shield is the perfect tool for this moment. Casting it on Magnus right before he blinks in gives him a buffer to absorb damage and, more importantly, a strong dispel to shrug off the instant disables that would otherwise cancel his initiation. This makes it much more likely for Magnus to complete his full combo and Skewer key targets back into your team without getting shut down.

The success of this pairing really depends on how the fights unfold. If Magnus finds a great multi-hero RP, Abaddon's shield ensures the play goes off smoothly. However, if the enemy team is spread out or if Magnus gets caught out of position, Abaddon can't force a good fight to happen. He primarily provides safety for Magnus's aggression, rather than adding to the lockdown or damage himself. It works when Magnus is on his game, but it doesn't create opportunities on its own, leading to a fairly balanced outcome.
