How Anti-Mage and Phantom Lancer perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Anti-Mage and Phantom Lancer win 49.19% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 13,540 matches.
Committing to both Anti-Mage and Phantom Lancer in a draft forces your team into a very greedy game plan. The core problem is that both heroes are hard carries who need a ton of farm and space to hit their item timings. They end up competing for the same safe creep waves across the map, which can slow down crucial items for both of them. This puts immense pressure on your other three heroes to survive and defend against mid-game aggression with very little help. If you can drag the game out long enough, having two elusive, high-damage carries can certainly overwhelm an enemy team, but getting to that point is the real challenge.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
