Anti-Mage + Io

Why this works

Accelerating an Anti-Mage's farm is the primary idea behind this pairing. Tether provides the lane sustain and movement speed needed to rotate between jungle camps efficiently, shaving time off his Battle Fury. Later, a well-timed Relocate can bring Anti-Mage in for a Mana Void kill on an isolated hero, then immediately get him back to safely farming the other side of the map. With Overcharge, he can also take down ancient stacks or Roshan much earlier than he normally would, creating a sudden gold and objective advantage that can be hard for the enemy to predict.

The main risk is the laning stage, which is incredibly fragile. Pairing two heroes with such a weak early presence invites aggression from the enemy offlane. If they successfully shut down the lane, Anti-Mage’s timings are ruined and Io is left with a core who can't fight. The game then depends entirely on whether the Io can survive the early pressure and successfully enable the Anti-Mage to hit his item timings. It's a gamble that hinges on the enemy team's draft and their ability to punish your greed.
