How Beastmaster and Gyrocopter perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Beastmaster and Gyrocopter win 43.98% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 3,747 matches.
The thinking here is usually a simple Primal Roar into Call Down setup, but this combo often backfires. When Beastmaster roars a target, he pushes all the surrounding enemies away. This is the exact opposite of what Gyrocopter needs to do his job. Gyrocopter's main damage from Flak Cannon and Call Down relies on hitting multiple clumped enemies. Instead of creating a perfect teamfight, Beastmaster scatters the targets, leaving Gyrocopter with only one hero to attack. The draft ends up caught between Beastmaster’s desire for a single-target pick-off and Gyrocopter’s need for a chaotic five-on-five brawl, excelling at neither.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
