Clinkz + Magnus

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together is a bet on a very specific interaction. The plan is straightforward: Magnus gives Empower to Clinkz, solving his typically slow farm speed and giving him some area damage with cleave. Then, in fights, Magnus lands a Reverse Polarity to hold enemies in place for Clinkz to unload with Burning Barrage. The problem is that Burning Barrage is where most of Clinkz's teamfight damage comes from, and it doesn't benefit from the cleave at all. So while the Empower helps Clinkz get items faster, the core fighting synergy isn't quite as strong as it looks on paper.

This creates a small tension in how they want to play the map. Magnus is looking to group up and find a big multi-hero ultimate, but Clinkz often prefers to be solo, using his invisibility to find isolated pickoffs. Success requires perfect coordination. If Clinkz is off on his own hunt when Magnus finds the perfect Reverse Polarity, the opportunity is completely wasted. The setup can work, but it relies on both players being in the right place at the right time, which doesn't always happen.
