Doom + Tusk

Why this works

Picking both these heroes often means you are trying to solve the same problem twice. Tusk is a specialist at initiating on a single enemy, using Snowball and Walrus PUNCH! to set up a kill. Doom serves a similar purpose, finding one key target and removing them entirely with his ultimate. When they are on the same team, their primary goals overlap significantly. Instead of their abilities creating a powerful combination, they often feel redundant, with both heroes trying to do the same job in a gank or teamfight.

This awkwardness becomes clear during mid-game fights. If Tusk and Doom both use their spells on the same hero, it is usually massive overkill and wastes a long cooldown ultimate. If they target different enemies, the team's focus splits, and neither kill is guaranteed. Tusk’s initiations need quick, high-damage follow-up, which a farming Doom might not be ready to provide. After Doom removes an enemy, the team needs to win the resulting fight, and Tusk’s single-target burst doesn't always add the sustained damage or control needed to do that.
