Earth Spirit + Witch Doctor

Why this works

Securing early kills helps build a strong lead, and this duo is pretty good at that. Earth Spirit provides reliable initiation, often rolling in from the fog to stun a target. This creates a perfect opening for Witch Doctor to land Paralyzing Cask and, more importantly, Maledict. Without that initial lockdown, a mobile hero could easily dodge the Maledict cast, but Earth Spirit's setup makes the follow-up much more consistent. The combination of control and damage amplification from those two spells makes their ganks surprisingly lethal.

This early pressure can create a lot of space. Later on, Earth Spirit's ability to kick or pull enemies is great for keeping them inside a Death Ward. The reason this pairing isn't always a free win is that it hinges on that initial engage. If Earth Spirit misses his roll, or if the target has a quick escape or a way to survive the initial burst, the gank can fall apart. Both heroes can be caught out of position if things go wrong, so good vision and coordination are needed to make it work.
