Gyrocopter + Magnus

Why this works

Facing down a Reverse Polarity often means a melee monster is about to get a free rampage. With Gyrocopter as the follow-up, the threat feels different, and often weaker. The core issue is Empower's redundancy; Gyrocopter's Flak Cannon already provides the area-of-effect physical attack he needs, making the cleave bonus feel wasted. While Magnus can group enemies perfectly for a Call Down, the rest of his kit is geared toward repositioning and enabling a melee hero. Skewering targets to a ranged hero like Gyrocopter is awkward and rarely part of the game plan.

This duo puts all its eggs in one basket: the RP-Call Down combination. Aware opponents will simply spread out, making the initiation difficult to land on key targets. If the enemy team survives that initial burst with saves or good positioning, the fight can turn sour. Gyrocopter is left exposed without his major spells, and Magnus has little to offer beyond that initial stun. The typical Magnus strategy of hyper-buffing a farm-heavy melee carry doesn't translate well to what Gyrocopter actually needs to succeed in fights.
