Huskar + Zeus

Why this works

Combining global magic damage with a Life Break initiation seems strong on paper. Zeus can soften up the whole enemy team with Thundergod's Wrath, letting Huskar pick his target and go in for a quick kill. A pre-emptive Lightning Bolt can even scout out a lone hero for him to jump on. That's pretty much where the teamwork stops, though. Zeus offers no stuns, saves, or control to help Huskar survive after he dives in. Both heroes are pure damage dealers who don't cover each other's fundamental weaknesses.

This duo’s game plan relies on getting early kills and snowballing that lead. A successful jump from Huskar on a target pre-damaged by Zeus can secure a pick-off and create an advantage. The strategy tends to fall apart when enemies start grouping. Once Huskar commits, he's often too deep and isolated. He can easily get turned on and killed before Zeus's magic damage is enough to swing the fight. Opponents can also itemize efficiently against the pair, since a Pipe of Insight or Glimmer Cape helps the whole team deal with both heroes' damage.
