Invoker + Medusa

Why this works

Protecting a farming Medusa is a classic Dota problem, and an Invoker offers a few useful tools for it. A well-timed Alacrity can accelerate her farm, and global spells like Sunstrike let the team secure kills while she stays in lane. Later on, Invoker's array of control spells like Tornado or Ice Wall can create the perfect setup for a big Stone Gaze. He can hold enemies in place or split the fight, giving Medusa the space she needs to position herself and deal damage without being immediately overwhelmed.

The core tension of this draft, however, is that both heroes can be quite greedy. Medusa needs immense farm and Invoker needs a lot of experience to be effective, which can create a very passive early game. A team with both heroes is vulnerable to being run over before either one comes online. If the enemy team plays aggressively and takes map control early, it can be difficult for either Medusa or Invoker to find the resources they need to hit their timings, leaving the whole strategy to fall flat.
