Lich + Magnus

Why this works

Landing a big Reverse Polarity creates an ideal setup for Chain Frost to bounce between stunned targets. On paper, this is a classic teamfight combo. In practice, both heroes are committing their longest cooldowns for an effect that can be inconsistent; the Chain Frost might bounce to a stray creep, or the fight could be over before it deals its full damage. Lich can also use Frost Shield on Magnus as he goes in, giving him some extra durability, but the core interaction relies entirely on these two big ultimates lining up perfectly.

Outside of that ultimate combination, these two heroes don't offer each other much. Magnus wants to farm and find opportunities to Skewer isolated targets back to his team. Lich prefers to control the lane pace with his nukes and provide defensive support from the back lines. Their game plans only really intersect during those five-second windows when both ultimates are available. If the enemy team avoids clumping up or saves a key spell to interrupt the follow-up, the entire strategy can fall flat, leaving the draft feeling disjointed until the next attempt.
