Lich + Sniper

Why this works

Trying to jump on a Sniper feels a lot harder when there’s a Lich nearby. Lich's Frost Shield is a huge help against the physical damage heroes that usually hunt backliners, making Sniper surprisingly tough to bring down. The constant slows from Frost Blast and Chain Frost also do a good job of keeping enemies at an ideal range. This gives Sniper the extra moments he needs to stand his ground and continue attacking without being forced to reposition constantly. The whole setup is designed to create a safe pocket for Sniper to operate from.

This defensive pairing plays out predictably. During teamfights, Lich will often position himself as a bodyguard for Sniper, ready to cast his defensive spells. It's a decent way to punish teams that try to dive the back lines without a clear plan. The problem is that it’s very reactive. Coordinated ganks, especially with heroes that have instant mobility or strong magic burst, can still overwhelm the duo. A well-timed stun on Lich or enough burst to kill Sniper through Frost Shield can break the formation. The synergy helps Sniper survive, but it doesn’t solve all his fundamental weaknesses.
